Terms of Service

1. The service

StreamChum provides tools for combining livestream chats, managing moderation, creating overlays, widgets, commands, device integrations, going live from the StreamChum phone app or the StreamChum Studio desktop app, hosting interactive browser gameplay sessions (StreamChum Play), and related streaming experiences. Features may change as we improve the service. In these terms, “StreamChum,” “we,” and “us” mean the Operator identified in our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into these terms. If you use StreamChum for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. You are responsible for accurate account information, keeping credentials secure, and activity under your account. When you create an account (including with Google or Twitch), you confirm you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy by ticking the box on the sign-up form before you continue.

Connecting Twitch on a StreamChum Play tournament page does not create a StreamChum account. You still agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy by connecting Twitch or by using that page. Instant Play guests who join with a nickname and no sign-in also agree by using Play. You must still be at least 13.

3. Workspaces and staff

Workspace owners control membership and permissions. Owners are responsible for invited staff and for ensuring that moderators and administrators use StreamChum lawfully. Access may be removed by a workspace owner or authorised administrator.

4. Connected platforms

StreamChum can connect to third-party services such as Twitch, YouTube/Google, Kick, and Discord. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms, policies, API limits, and availability. You authorise StreamChum to access and act on connected accounts only to provide features you request. We are not responsible for a third party changing, limiting, suspending, or discontinuing its service or API.

When you connect Discord, StreamChum installs a bot that can post messages you configure (such as timers and event announcements) and respond to slash commands in the Discord server you select. StreamChum does not read Discord chat. Adding the bot to a Discord server (including from Discord’s App Directory) does not by itself connect a StreamChum workspace. Slash commands and outbound posts for your channels work after you connect that server under Settings, Channels in StreamChum. You are responsible for content you configure StreamChum to post to Discord and for complying with Discord’s terms, Community Guidelines, and developer rules for that server.

When you use the StreamChum Stream Deck plugin or another documented device integration, you authorise it to use the limited, revocable StreamChum API token you provide to list and run Actions in your selected workspace. An Action may send chat, control OBS, operate overlays, or perform other steps you configured. You are responsible for reviewing an Action before assigning it to a device key, protecting the token, and revoking it if the device or token is lost or shared.

When you connect OBS Studio (or compatible software) through the StreamChum OBS plugin, bridge, or related features, you authorise StreamChum to read layout information and to make changes you request, including through Actions, device integrations, and optional OBS setup assistance. Those changes can create, modify, move, hide, or remove scenes, sources, filters, scene collections, profiles, and other OBS settings on your machine. You are responsible for backing up your OBS configuration (including scene collections and profiles) before using these features, and for reviewing proposed or automated changes before applying them, especially during a live broadcast. StreamChum does not guarantee that OBS changes will succeed, be reversible, or preserve your prior layout. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for lost, overwritten, corrupted, or unsuitable OBS work, scenes, sources, media, recordings, stream settings, or broadcast outcomes arising from your use of StreamChum’s OBS features, your connection or plugin failures, or third-party OBS behaviour.

StreamChum OBS Plugin software. We may offer a downloadable StreamChum OBS plugin (or similar bridge software) that you install on your computer and that runs inside or alongside OBS. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use that software only with StreamChum and only on devices you own or control. The software is provided “as is” and “as available.” You install, configure, update, and use it at your own risk. It may crash, freeze, misbehave, conflict with other OBS plugins or versions, fail to pair or reconnect, mis-apply stream or recording settings, interrupt or prevent a go-live or broadcast, or otherwise affect OBS, your stream, or your machine. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamChum is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the OBS plugin or bridge, including lost or corrupted OBS configuration, failed or interrupted streams or recordings, downtime, missed audiences, reputational harm, hardware or software problems, or the need to reinstall OBS or restore backups. You are responsible for verifying compatibility with your OBS build, keeping backups, testing before going live, and uninstalling the plugin if you no longer want it. The OBS plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by the OBS Project; use of OBS remains subject to OBS’s own terms and licences.

StreamChum Studio software. We may offer a downloadable StreamChum Studio application for Windows and macOS (Apple Silicon) that you install on your computer to capture, compose, encode, and publish live video and audio (including RTMP and RTMPS) to destinations you connect in StreamChum. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Studio only with StreamChum and only on devices you own or control. Studio is provided “as is” and “as available.” You install, configure, update, and use it at your own risk. It may crash, freeze, drop frames, fail to capture a display, camera, or audio device, fail to encode or publish, interrupt or prevent a go-live or recording, or otherwise affect your stream or your machine. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamChum is not liable for any loss or damage arising from Studio, including failed or interrupted streams or recordings, downtime, missed audiences, reputational harm, hardware or software problems, or lost local layouts or recordings. You are responsible for testing before going live, keeping backups of local layouts, and uninstalling Studio if you no longer want it.

When you use Studio, you authorise it to capture the displays, windows, cameras, microphones, and system audio you select, to encode that media, and to send it to ingest endpoints StreamChum resolves for your connected channels. You are responsible for having the rights to capture and broadcast that content, and for complying with the rules of destinations you go live to. Studio signs in with your StreamChum account and uses the same channel connections as Live Center.

StreamChum phone app. We may offer a StreamChum app for iPhone and Android. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use that app only with StreamChum and only on devices you own or control. The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” When you go live from the phone, you authorise it to use the camera and microphone, to encode that video and audio on the phone, and to send it to the ingest endpoint StreamChum resolves for the one channel you choose. You may also send that camera and microphone to StreamChum Studio on the same Wi-Fi. That video goes to Studio on your local network. StreamChum does not receive or store either recording. You are responsible for having the rights to capture and broadcast that content, and for complying with the rules of the destination you go live to. You can delete your account from the app, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Studio bundles third-party components listed in the ThirdPartyNotices.txt and licenses folder that ship with the application, including Qt under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3, Chromium Embedded Framework and Chromium, Mbed TLS under the Apache License 2.0, IXWebSocket, and the Hanken Grotesk fonts under the SIL Open Font License. StreamChum Studio itself is not licensed under the GPL; the GPL text is included because LGPLv3 requires it for Qt. Qt is linked as separate dynamic libraries so you may replace those libraries with a compatible modified version as LGPLv3 allows. Qt source is available from https://download.qt.io/. Nothing in these terms restricts rights you have under those third-party licences, including the right to reverse engineer bundled libraries as those licences require in order to debug modifications to them.

StreamChum Play and Play Host software. We may offer a downloadable StreamChum Play Host application for Windows that you install on your computer to host StreamChum Play rooms. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Play Host only with StreamChum and only on devices you own or control. Play Host is provided “as is” and “as available.” You install, configure, update, and use it at your own risk. It may crash, freeze, fail to capture a display, fail to encode or send video, fail to inject virtual controller input, interrupt a session, or otherwise affect games or your machine. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamChum is not liable for any loss or damage arising from Play Host, including failed or interrupted sessions, in-game outcomes, lost progress, hardware or software problems, or the need to reinstall drivers or restore backups.

When you use Play Host, you authorise it to capture the display you select, to send that video (and optional system audio) over WebRTC to viewers who join your Play room, and to translate guest gamepad, touch, or keyboard input into virtual Xbox-style controllers on your host machine. Guests do not receive desktop, file, or keyboard access. You are responsible for the games and applications you run, for having the rights to capture and share that content, for seating and disconnecting guests, and for pausing or ending a session. StreamChum is not responsible for in-game actions taken by remote players, latency, network interruptions, or unintended inputs dispatched to your machine.

Play Host signs in with your StreamChum account (the same terms you accepted at sign-up). It may check for updates against StreamChum and install a newer zip over its folder when you choose Update and restart. It may download and run the official ViGEmBus driver setup from Nefarius Software Solutions e.U. when you choose to install virtual pads. ViGEmBus is third-party software licensed by Nefarius (BSD-3-Clause), not StreamChum. Windows will ask for administrator permission before that driver is installed. You can decline and install ViGEmBus yourself from Nefarius’s releases page. Play Host bundles other third-party components listed in the ThirdPartyNotices.txt and licenses folder that ship with the application. Nothing in these terms restricts rights you have under those third-party licences.

Play guests and tournaments. Viewers may join a Play room with a nickname and no StreamChum account, or open a public tournament page and connect Twitch so StreamChum can show their Twitch name and avatar on that event. Connecting Twitch for a tournament is identity for that Play event only: it is not a StreamChum signup, it does not add your Twitch channel as a streaming destination, and it does not grant StreamChum permission to post to your channel. Your use of Twitch remains subject to Twitch’s own terms. Details of what we store are in our Privacy Policy.

The streamer who created the tournament or Play room runs the event. They set the games, seating, bracket, and winners. StreamChum provides the Play tools. We are not the tournament organiser, we do not referee disputes, and we are not responsible for prizes, extra rules the host announces, in-game outcomes, or who the host seats or removes. Play sessions send video from the host’s PC to your browser and send your virtual gamepad input back to that PC. You do not receive desktop, file, or keyboard access. StreamChum is not responsible for latency, interruptions, in-game actions, or content the host captures and shares.

5. Trademarks and third-party brands

Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Discord, Ko-fi, OBS Studio, Stream Deck, Elgato, Qt, Chromium, NVIDIA, and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. StreamChum is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those companies. Product and company names on StreamChum are used only to describe interoperability. Game titles in pack names describe a look and feel only, packs are original StreamChum designs, not official merchandise or assets from those games.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use StreamChum to:

• break any law, platform rule, or another person’s rights;
• harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or unlawfully monitor anyone;
• distribute malware, spam, deceptive content, or unauthorised advertising;
• automate Discord posts solely to fake or inflate server activity;
• bypass security, access controls, rate limits, or platform restrictions;
• probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the service, except where law expressly permits, or except as required to exercise rights under open-source licences that apply to third-party components bundled with StreamChum software (including the GNU Lesser General Public License for Qt);
• share secret overlay URLs, access tokens, or credentials in a way that compromises an account; or
• use automated access other than documented StreamChum features or APIs.

7. Artificial intelligence features

StreamChum may offer optional AI-assisted features, including viewer briefs, overlay/widget generation, image assets used by those tools, collection branding, OBS setup assistance, spoken audio and sound generation, and Studio live captions. These features may be limited to paid plans. When available, they may send prompts, chat excerpts, display names, configuration, OBS layout information, attached reference images, text for speech or sound generation, and (for live captions) microphone audio from StreamChum Studio to our AI providers (currently OpenAI, Google AI / Gemini, ElevenLabs, and AssemblyAI) so the feature can run. Which provider processes a request depends on the feature and model in use. Live caption audio is sent from Studio to AssemblyAI and is not proxied through StreamChum. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

AI outputs are probabilistic suggestions. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for a live stream. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before publishing, applying them in OBS, acting on viewer briefs, or relying on them for moderation or community decisions. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use, and do not use AI features to generate unlawful, infringing, or platform-prohibited material.

We do not guarantee any particular AI quality, availability, or model. We may change, limit, or discontinue AI features, models, or providers. Your use of third-party AI providers through StreamChum remains subject to those providers’ acceptable-use and service terms insofar as they apply to the processing we request on your behalf.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content and configurations you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve StreamChum. You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide the content and that its use through StreamChum does not violate law or another person’s rights.

9. StreamChum ownership

StreamChum, its software, branding, design, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership or grant rights to our trademarks. Subject to your ownership of prompts and other content you submit, we (and where applicable our licensors) own the StreamChum service, underlying models’ weights we do not control, and the software that delivers AI features. You may use AI-generated outputs produced for your workspace in connection with your streaming activity, provided you comply with these terms and applicable law.

10. Plans and payment

StreamChum is offered as a paid subscription service, with an optional free trial. Current plan names, what’s included, usage meters, seat limits, retention, and list prices are described on our pricing page and may change over time. The features and limits that apply to your workspace are those shown in the product and on the pricing page during your trial or at purchase, and those confirmed at checkout when you subscribe. These terms do not set prices; if anything here conflicts with the pricing page or checkout confirmation for a purchase, the pricing page and checkout confirmation control for that purchase.

10.1 Free trial

New workspaces may receive a free trial with access to features as described on our pricing page when the trial starts. We may offer the trial without requiring a payment card. Trial length, what’s included, and what happens when it ends will be stated when you start the trial (and reflected on the pricing page). Unless you purchase a paid plan before the trial ends (or within any grace period we communicate), access to the paid product may pause until you subscribe. We do not currently offer a free forever plan; we may introduce one later.

10.2 Paid plans and renewals

When paid checkout is available, the price, billing period, currency, applicable taxes, renewal terms, and cancellation instructions for the plan you select will be shown before you complete purchase. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel through the account billing controls we provide (or by contacting us); cancellation stops future renewals and generally takes effect at the end of the then-current paid period unless we state otherwise at purchase. You remain responsible for charges incurred before cancellation takes effect.

10.3 Meters, seats, and overages

Some features are limited by plan, including AI usage meters (credits), staff seats, and retention windows, as shown on the pricing page and in the product. Where meters apply, plan allowances reset on the schedule described in the product (typically about monthly). That credit period may differ from your subscription billing period, for example, a yearly subscription can still receive a monthly-style credit reset as shown in the product. Exhausting a meter may pause or degrade that AI feature until the allowance resets, you upgrade, or you buy additional credits.

We may offer AI credit packs (top-ups) and other add-ons as shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Pack credits are added to the same workspace AI credit wallet as your plan allowance and are charged as shown at purchase. Unless checkout states a longer window, unused pack credits expire at the end of the then-current credit period together with unused plan allowance when that period resets. You are responsible for usage under your workspace, including usage by invited staff.

10.4 Prices, currency, and taxes

Up-to-date list prices and available currencies are shown on our pricing page. The currency and amount you are charged are those confirmed at checkout. Prices may exclude or include VAT or other taxes depending on your location and what the checkout shows; you are responsible for any taxes we are required to collect, which will be added or included as indicated before you pay.

We may change list prices or plan packaging. Material price increases for a renewing subscription will be notified in advance where required by law or by these terms, and will apply from the next renewal unless you cancel before then.

10.5 Payment processing

Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). By paying, you also agree to the applicable Stripe terms for the payment method you use. StreamChum does not store full card numbers; Stripe processes payment credentials under its own policies. You authorise us (and Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide for the selected plan, renewals, and any add-ons you buy.

If a payment fails, we may retry, notify you, and after a reasonable grace period suspend or limit product access until payment succeeds. You remain responsible for unpaid amounts that are due.

10.6 Refunds and consumer rights

Unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable, including unused time in a billing period and unused AI or feature meters. If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA, nothing in these terms removes mandatory rights you have under applicable law (including any cooling-off or cancellation rights that apply to digital subscriptions in your circumstances). If a mandatory right applies, contact us and we will honour it.

10.7 Chargebacks and misuse

If you dispute a valid charge with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we may suspend or terminate access while the dispute is investigated. Fraudulent use of payment methods is prohibited.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using StreamChum and delete your account from the phone app or from Settings, Account. That removes your login and workspaces where you are the only member. If you own a workspace that still has other people, remove them first. You can also email us to request deletion. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or others, address a legal or security risk, enforce these terms, or respond to prolonged inactivity. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

12. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, outages, third-party failures, quota limits, and internet conditions may affect availability. We may add, modify, or discontinue features.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamChum is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. AI features are included in this disclaimer: we do not warrant that AI outputs will be accurate, safe, non-infringing, or fit for live use. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StreamChum and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, broadcasts, or opportunities. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid StreamChum during the 12 months before the claim or £100. These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

15. Indemnity

If you use StreamChum for a business, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, your content, or your material breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where mandatory law gives you that right. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or law changes. We will publish the revised terms here and update the date above. If a material change affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.

18. General

If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganisation, financing, merger, or sale of the service.

StreamChum Studio and the StreamChum OBS plugin are governed by these Terms (including the Studio and OBS Plugin software paragraphs in Connected platforms).
