Ping Discord when friends go live
Add Twitch channels you watch in Settings, Friends. When they go live, StreamChum can post Discord, chat, or overlays. One-click Discord announce. Twitch only for now.
Takeaway
We just added a Friends list. Put Twitch channels you watch on it, up to 25, not your own. When they go live, StreamChum fires a Watched streamer went live event. Events and Actions can post Discord, chat, or overlays. The Friends page can add the Discord ping in one click. Twitch only for now. Out now.
What we shipped
Settings, Friends is a watch list of other Twitch people. Search, add, done. When someone on that list flips live, the desk gets the same kind of event you already use for follows and raids. Discord is the obvious destination. Chat and overlays work too.
- Up to 25 Twitch channels you do not own. A live badge shows who is on right now.
- The event is Watched streamer went live. Your own go-live is still Stream started.
- One click on Friends can add a Discord event for a channel you pick.
- YouTube and Kick watch lists are not in this version.
Discord is the easy path
Connect Discord under Settings, Channels. StreamChum posts out. It does not read Discord chat. On Friends, pick a text channel and add the event. Default line is the name, then the title. You can edit the template after, same as any other event. Clicks live in the connect channels guide.
Not only Discord
The event is a normal desk event. Wire it in Events for a chat line. Or build an Action that hits an overlay, waits, then posts Discord. Same run as a follow or a Ko-fi tip. Setup is in the Actions guide.
Twitch for now
This watch list is Twitch only. YouTube and Kick friends are not here yet. Your own stream to Twitch, YouTube, and Kick still uses Stream started, including the Discord go-live you may already have. Friends is other people. More on outbound Discord is on the Discord page.
Cap is 25. If the list is full, remove someone to add another. Your own Twitch channel does not belong here.
